The Green University of Tokyo Project has started its activity since June,2006. The project has worked as a joint project between industry and academia from its establishment, and achieved important results in “Green IT/ICT” fields. In 2010, the project steps up its activities as the university wide project in the University of Tokyo, and will further contributes to research and development on “Green IT/ICT” fields. The project will appreciate your further help and encouragement from now on.

Prof. Niu Zhisheng, Tsinghua University, visited Professor Hiroshi Esaki's laboratory to observe the activity of GUTP and the field site for demonstration experiments. He also attended a general meeting of GUTP and expressed his expectations for the China-Japan Joint PJ Green IT.

At the study group of Internet Architecture of IEICE, Mr. Kaoru Yoshida of the Mitsubishi Research Institute and Mr. Takahide Nakajima of CIMX reported the results of the investigation in GUTP.

During the Nikkei BP Environmental Management Forum at the Eco Product Fair at Tokyo Big Sight, an exhibition and speech about GUTP activities were presented. The speakers were Mr. Takahide Nakajima of CIMX and WG chairman, Mr. Kosuke Ito of Ubiteq, Mr. Fumio Fujimura of Yamatake, Mr. Hiroaki Tanaka of Yokogawa Electric, Mr. Noriaki Fujiwara of Panasonic Electric Works, Mr. Hideji Nakamura and Mr. Kaoru Yoshida of the Mitsubishi Research Institute. The results of a survey after the presentation showed that 80% of attendants supported the speeches.

[Event Report]

At Eco Design 2009 (Sapporo), we reported on the activity of GUTP in the Green IT session. The speakers were Professor Hiroshi Esaki of Tokyo University, Mr. Kaoru Yoshida of the Mitsubishi Research Institute, Mr. Takahide Nakajima of CIMX, and Mr. Kimihiro Ito of Ubiteq. Also, at the standardization session, Mr. Ochiai of Tokyo University's Esaki Laboratory gave a presentation on the FIAP activity of GUTP.
